Compare mode

Compare mode lets you model "what if" changes to your portfolio. Enter a hypothetical value against any asset in the balance sheet, and the rest rebalances to keep your total the same.

Once you change an amount, a second set of charts appears alongside your current ones so you can see the difference side by side.

How "Flex" works

Compare mode lets you see your existing assets as if they were invested differently. A key assumption is that your portfolio keeps the same total value.

When you change the amount held in any one asset, that change has to be offset somewhere. The asset you mark as the "Flex" asset is the one that absorbs it.

For example, you might mark a "Cash" asset as your flex asset. If you reduce another investment by $100,000, your Cash goes up by $100,000. If instead you increase that investment, your Cash goes down by the same amount.

One thing to keep in mind: a flex asset can never drop below $0. So to move $100,000 into another asset, your flex asset needs to be worth at least $100,000.
